One Year On!!!

I have been lucky enough to be selected for One Year On at new designers this year. Very big smiley face! I will be exhibiting in the second half (part 2) of the event...slightly more furniture based...and am currently working on all sorts of new things to show. Nothing outrageously different, don't get me wrong...but as my PGCE comes to a close..it's time to focus again a little more on my designs. PHEW. A friend of mine said...'you really don't no just how much you love design until you do a course with none in it!'-shocking. He also said some stuff that probably isn't so valid, but its about being able to see the diamond in the rough...

So anyway...New Designers... 8th-11th July....Business Design Centre!

"One Year On is a satellite event run as part of New Designers. It specifically presents around 40 selected designer-makers who are within one year of graduating or within one year of being in business.

One Year On is a very special part of the show and it differentiates itself from the main event by showcasing the work of a selected group of innovative, enthusiastic and creative makers who have recently started to produce and promote their creative practices. "

Workshops!

I have recently been running workshops in my local area for 8-11 year olds using different types of mark-making, printing and textile techniques. The learners work really hard and made some great results. They also ran rings around me, but it was great fun all the same!

Mid Century Modern

Just a little thank you to the lovely Zoe Murphy who invited me along to exhibit with her at the MidCentury Modern show last week. It was an awesome day and good experience.

Chair....

I have just finished uphoslstering this lovely little ercol chair. And I really do love it. Its not perfect, but its mine!

A few froggy additions...

Its mid January and the snow is still falling....giving me plenty of time to stay in and get work done. Its been a creative, but cold xmas! brrrrrrrrrr

A Sneak Preview for 2010... from snowy Essex

Here are some of the latest fabrics I have been working on that are being turned into cushions after xmas! Its been snowing here, and all over the south-east, a little too early to be sure we will have a white xmas this year and maybe I'm showing my age but I'm not convinced I want one (what a Scrooge!). Anyway, wishing you all a very merry xmas and a happy new year! xxx

The OC

I was recently in my old schools magazine- The OC (old chigwellian). It was a great opportunity to show everyone what I have been up to and really nice to remember some of my creative school days. They managed to dig out a brilliant old photo too to add in which was a suprise!

BASH Exhibition

So...here are a few images of my work at the Visual Arts centre Havering. The Opening night went well, it was a good turn out with lots of friendly faces, and some new ones too. Generally good feedback, but then I figured people tend not to be rude to your face. Currently woring on some cushions, a chair and a skirt....will keep you posted!

So its been a while....

So....been pretty busy latey with the London show in brick lane.. www.chameleon09.co.uk and New designers starts next week at the business design centre, Angel Islington.. www.newdesigners.com . Had some good feedback so far but fingers crossed for some more.
