some flower from the garden
Today the sun was shining so I went out in the garden (in between actual work of course) with my new digital SLR and took some pics for some much needed inspiration.

Zizzi Durham

I was recently commissioned to do a bespoke fabric for Zizzi restaurant in Durham based on the local area and the famous cathedral. It was great fun and I also was lucky enough to get to visit the beautiful city too. They also commissioned a range of stone tables, using a new process I have been working with, which etches images onto the surface of stones such as granite and quartz through sandblasting. Anyway...I hope you like....

in stock @ Selfridges!

So...at the end of last week I decided to have a pop along to Selfridges to to see my cushions in the store....and there they were on the 4th floor of Oxford st London....a few pics here! if your passing go take a look! Loads of wicked stuff going on in store at the moment including a supermarket Sarah feature- which I desperately tried to find, but after being sent on a wild goose chase by staff eventually had to give up...so if anyone can give me accurate directions that would be fabulous! I will be back for another chance to take a look!
How cute is this!

Been meaning to share this cute picture with you for ages, this is Joseph, whose mummy Eve recently ordered a 'leaf' style chair.....he is soooo gorgeous and apparently 'adores the chair,' and has even decided the chair is his....and wont let daddy sit on it any more! oh dear : S So nice to see him enjoying it! Thank you for the picture Eve, it made me day!

Oh xmas tree oh xmas tree how lovely are your branches!

No I haven't gone crazy, or abandoned the traditional green xmas tree forever, and no this isn't a rescue tree. Initially it was meant to save space, and although, in retrospect it probably doesn't literally save space, it certainly doesn't close in my small lounge like a regular tree. I am somewhat worried the tree will be controversial... but it was cheap.....straight from the garden...and you should also know that no trees were hurt in the making of this! I like it, and although open to hear anyones opinion of my tree, my opinion will not be changed. I stole the idea from a feature in homes and gardens....and although theres perhaps looks better...if they think its cool..then it is!

Lets get festive with a xmas treasure hunt!

So maybe November is still a bit too early for xmas, but lets not fight it and lets get festive! The snow has fallen and the decs are up, and for a limited period the shops of the secret arcade are offering a variety of deals especially for xmas shoppers. Hidden in the wreaths above each of the shop doors is an offer, and my store is no exception! So go on and get into the xmas spirit and take a virtual walk around some of the boutiques, as well as picking up a variety of festive offers on the way! You can find my store in the homeware and fabric passage. Happy hunting! x

Toadstool....

Here is a recent addition, a commission for a lovely lady, Rebecca who wanted to add a footstool, or a toadstool as she so appropriately named it to her home, matching in with a bespoke 'leaf and duck' chair that she ordered earlier in the year. So a second-hand ercol stool was upcycled in navy frog and leaf on the reverse with green edge and pink piping! When Bex got her footstool home she text me with a little image of the footstool in its new home and and wrote ' Im sat in my chair with my feet up-Im in heaven!' This toadstool couldn't have gone to a better home!

firefly and our new chair

Here are a very quick few pics of a collaborative piece between me and firefly house. They have painted an old ercol chair blue, leaving the spindles stripped back and natural- lovely! and then covered it in my pheasant fabric.
100% design

I recently exhibited at 100% design, earl court- and here are a few pics of the event. It was a really busy few days, but great fun. I shared my stand with a great friend of mine, Lorna Syson- as well as having her own gorgeous stand she was a super help. Met some lovely people and got a few cheeky orders which is always lovely! Design week was really busy for all designers and although it was brilliant, the only sad thing was I didnt get to go and see all the other exhibitions and event on offer as I was so busy here...I shall have to catch up on what happened!

TENT, ERCOL and me!

So during design week, as some of you may have seen not only did I exhibit at 100% design but I was lucky enough to exhibit at TENT in a collaborative project with ercol furniture. The stand looked fantastic with combinations of gorgeous ercol design displaying textiles from Donna Wilson, Designers Guild and little old me! ( how lucky I am). It was very colourful, and I absolutely loved their range of butterfly chairs( as seen above)! I now have an overwhelming urge to paint black chairs I have just bought for my kitchen in a selection of bright colours....hmmmmmm!
